Greetings!

It is with great joy that we write to you today! Almost three years since San Francisco voters passed Proposition C, the city has released funds that will release approximately $149 Million, of which $120 Million is dedicated to SF early care and education annually.

San Francisco ECE community and advocates have fought hard against anti-tax business interests, first at the ballot, then the courts. This victory will allow great strides toward: serving children on the child care waitlist, primarily infants and toddlers; advancing San Francisco's commitment to bring 0-5 educator compensation to parity with TK-3 public school teachers; and increasing access to families just above current eligibility for subsidized care. Take a moment to celebrate this sweet victory just in time for May 1: Worthy Wage Day & May 4: Teacher Appreciation Day—with a real way to appreciate teachers.
In addition to our grassroots organizing, we offer our newsletters to you with ECE policy resources, articles, as well as upcoming conferences and events based on educator interests. We believe that sharing information which impacts the local ECE community is important. If you value the content of the ECESF Newsletter with local ECE updates sent directly to your inbox, we ask that you please consider a donation so that we can continue our valuable work together.
With much appreciation,
Sara & Anna

PPP loans for are now extended until May 31

President Biden on Tuesday signed an extension for the popular Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), which was created last year to help small businesses weather the economic fallout from the coronavirus pandemic. The deadline to apply for a PPP loan has been extended from March 31 to May 31, and the law extends authorization of loans to June 30 to give the Small Business Administration additional time to process applications.
