The Party of the Year!

On April 23rd, Arkansas Hospice supporters gathered at Argenta Plaza in North Little Rock for a day packed with great music, art, food and FUN! The first-ever PARTY AT THE PLAZA was a great success, raising more than $200,000 to support Arkansas Hospice in our efforts to serve Arkansans and their loved ones experiencing life-limiting illnesses and the natural effects of aging.

This free-to-the-community event featured an all-day festival of musical performances from local artists like The Rocktown Sparks, The Rodney Block Collective, The Salty Dogs and longtime Arkansas Hospice "house band" The B-Flats. Headlining the event were Conway native and American Idol winner Kris Allen and legendary rock 'n' roll pianist Jason D. Williams. In addition to great music, guests were treated to a lively kids' activity area, the "Artists on the Avenue" fine art fair, the Dogtown Costume Contest, delicious culinary fare and libations from the restaurants of the Argenta Arts District, and the moving and meaningful presentation of the first ever Michael V. Aureli Compass Award to Sharon Aureli.

We extend the sincerest thanks to event co-chairs David and Anna Kay Frueauff and the sponsors, volunteers, artists, staff and attendees who made this fabulous event possible! Plans are already underway for PARTY AT THE PLAZA 2023! Stay tuned for more details as we prepare for another great party in Argenta Plaza!

Sharon Aureli Honored with

the Michael V. Aureli Compass Award

A highlight of Arkansas Hospice’s recent Party at the Plaza event was the presentation of the organization’s first Michael V. Aureli Compass Award to Sharon Aureli for her vital contributions to the nonprofit organization during its 30-year history.

The award is named for Sharon’s late husband, Michael Aureli, who was the founder of Arkansas Hospice and died in 2011 as a patient in the organization’s care.

For nearly 11 years, Sharon has been a key figure at Arkansas Hospice in her own right. In 2013, she joined the Board of Directors for the Arkansas Hospice Foundation, where she served for many years before being named the Foundation Board Chair in the fall of 2018. Since then, she’s moved over to the Arkansas Hospice Governing Board, where she continues to play an active role.
