A Note from our Executive Director

Dear Lori,

What do you remember most about graduation? Was it the gown and hat? The feeling of accomplishment? This month, we are celebrating the progress of our teaching team and of our students. Soon our 4 and 5 year old students will be promoted to T-K and Kindergarten. We will honor them with pictures and flowers and send them off to the next stage in their learning journey.

Our students aren’t the only ones advancing. We are proud to honor four staff members who have completed the first step in their journey to becoming certified teachers!

A cohort of four of our Spanish speaking teaching assistants completed 12 units of child development course work, enabling them to apply for their associate teacher permit. There is still a severe shortage of qualified early childhood educators. We are so proud of our teaching staff for enhancing their skills and pursuing their careers.

As we celebrate these milestones, I am reminded that growth and learning are lifelong journeys for both our students and staff.

Breakfast With Babies

We had the joy of hosting a few wonderful supporters at our recent Breakfast with Babies! Our guests enjoyed a tour of our Children’s Center, explored our gardens and playground, and learned all about how high quality early childhood education makes a life long difference.

A huge thank you to the Women’s Fund of Santa Barbara and the Santa Barbara Foundation for your support!

We asked our future kindergarteners what they want to be when they grow up... watch the full video here!
