Dario et La Diablesse: A Caribbean Musical

Based on the Caribbean folk tale of La Diablesse, this work unveils a diverse and authentic story. Canadian and West Indian emerging artists representing many Caribbean islands namely, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Lucia, and Trinidad and Tobago, as well as emerging artists of non-African heritage came together in one virtual room to produce this work.

It takes many developmental processes like this to end up with a full music theatre show, however, we are so pleased with what we have been able to do this past July.

Many Voices Many Stories
In our Many Voices Many Stories projects, NST, encourages a 'new look' on our future stages by supporting the development of new works and underrepresented stories of our multicultural community through artistic expressions of workshops and productions. We particularly support the development of new works by New Generation (Emerging) Artists.

Another authentic Caribbean Tale
Sing, Act, Dance, Caribbean mythology!
Registration is closing this week for our summer teen Intensives. We will present a virtual program of classes plus a Greek- chorus style story performance of Richardo Keens-Douglas' La Diablesse and the Baby with the Dora Award - winning, playwright himself directing. Classes in singing, acting, and dancing as well as instruction on creating audition videos, in our virtual programming.

Our mandate is to level economic barriers and provide equal opportunity to partake in our programs. Our creative and governing leadership team is representative of our communities social and economical diversity and we support the mentorship of youths to emerging artists with the mentorship of seasoned industry professionals.
