With candor and sympathy, debut novelist Nathan Harris creates an unforgettable cast of characters, depicting Georgia in the violent crucible of Reconstruction. Equal parts beauty and terror, as gripping as it is moving, The Sweetness of Water is an epic whose grandeur locates humanity and love amid the most harrowing circumstances. This Oprah’s Book Club pick has won several awards and promises to be rich for discussion.

Veterans Ministry
Thursday, June 6, at 10:00 a.m.
Location: Guild Room

We have a newly formed Veterans Ministry that is open to all, veterans and non-veterans alike. We helped to coordinate special liturgies during each of our weekend services for Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Veterans Day. Our goal is to support veterans within our parish and community, ultimately becoming known as a veteran-friendly parish. We meet monthly on the first Thursday of the month from 10-11 AM in the Guild Room.

All are welcome. If you believe you are called to provide assistance to veterans, you are most welcome to join us at one of our meetings.
French! Spanish!! Italian!!! With Dorsey Salerno

Are you planning a trip to Europe this summer and want to rev up your high school foreign language? Do you have a middle, or high school student who wants to go to the next level in their foreign language? Or perhaps you want to keep your brain sharp by learning a new language. I'm here for you, in French, Spanish or Italian!

I taught French and Latin for ten years in Chappaqua, New York and have been tutoring the above languages, (yes, on the telephone by face time or on Zoom) ever since. I love teaching one-on-one and I love my students. (I've been told they think the lessons are easy and fun.)

St. Paul's Church will benefit from your experience. Sign up for a package of five lessons at $10.00 a lesson (one hour), helping yourself and St. Paul's at the same time. Students new to the language receive their first book, gratis.

For further information call Dorsey Salerno at 561-676-1076.

Weird and wacky climate impacts and solutions!

In 2021, maple syrup demand spiked while production plummeted due to unusually warm conditions that year. Quebec’s “maple syrup cartel” was forced to release half of its syrup reserves…and climate change was partly to blame.

That was the first time I heard the words maple syrup, cartel, and climate change in the same place and the weirdness of that juxtaposition stuck in my head! Since then, I’ve been keeping my ears open for more strange climate news: and when you start looking, there’s a lot of it.

This week’s newsletter is dedicated to all the weird ways climate change is affecting our lives and the planet, and the even weirder and more creative solutions people are coming up with to tackle this crisis. [...]

Faithful Giving

Please help us to keep our mission and ministry strong. St. Paul's staff, operations, community outreach, and our missions to help the most vulnerable are dependent on Sunday offerings to keep afloat. When Sunday offerings decrease, our missions become at risk.

Safe and secure online giving on our website - St. Paul's has a safe and secure electronic donation service available allowing you to make single donations or set up recurring donations. Click the button below to visit our donation page:
Mail -  If you prefer to send your pledge or other donation by check, please send your contribution to: St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 188 S. Swinton Avenue, Delray Beach, FL 33444.
Strengthening Ministries for Tomorrow’s Faithful

To ensure that the work of St. Paul’s lives on, remember St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in your estate planning. With a gift in your will, trust, or in some other way, you can make a lasting impact on those served through the mission and ministry of St. Paul’s.

One sentence in your will can make a lasting difference to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. To leave a gift in your will, simply share this sentence with your attorney or financial planner:

“I hereby bequeath to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Delray Beach, FL, the sum of $ (or % of my estate) to support its mission and ministry (or to the Legacy Fund of the Endowment Fund.)”

To talk with a member of the Endowment Fund Board about how you can continue to support the mission and ministry of St. Paul’s with a legacy gift, please contact Caren Kilpatrick, our Parish Administrator, at 561-276-4541 or caren@stpaulsdelray.org.
