Remembering Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Celebrating the Day of Service
Pro Bono Institute joins the nation in celebrating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and honoring his fight for equality and justice through this day of national service. Dr. King was a fervent advocate for racial equality, a courageous leader in the face of oppression, and a firm believer in non-violent activism. He held a vision of a more just, equitable, and peaceful America, and believed that love, rather than hate, would be victorious.

As we unite to celebrate Dr. King’s mission for equality, let us recall his wise words at a time when they are urgently needed, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can
do that.”

PBI invites you to join us in recommitting ourselves to assisting marginalized communities, rededicating ourselves to promoting racial justice for all, and restoring our faith in the ability to work together to achieve the vision of justice that Dr. King held for our country.

On this Martin Luther King Jr. Day, let us honor his life and legacy through our service, and with the belief that, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”
