Uniting past with present in the continued story of our mission to “make known the love of the heart of Jesus,” all students, faculty and staff prayed the Rosary together this morning. From classrooms to offices, auditoriums to dining halls, we gathered with our Rosaries to continue this way of spiritual practice in our school. The developers of Google Meet probably never imagined that such purposes of mission would be fulfilled through this medium. Science and technology meet faith and religion!
To Mary, we dedicated this school many years ago. This morning, we turned to Mary, also known as the “Queen of Peace,” to pray for peace in our hearts, for our friends, our families and in our world. I believe that God hears the prayer of the heart and that our school community felt the touch of grace that comes with prayer, in both apparent and more subtle ways.
On October 3rd, 1887, the very next day, the Sisters opened the school to its students, and so we continue to do so today. As with every long story, it has had many interesting chapters in its history. We are living one of them now during this pandemic. Still, we join in prayer. Still, we open our school. Still, we strive to live our educational mission as a community of Christ’s heart.
United in this long story today, this comes to our Sacred Heart family with our prayer of gratitude and love.
