Thanks to our dedicated staff, donors, and volunteers, 2017 was a transformative year for Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless and our clients.

Volunteers Needed to Help Find Those In Need

The Point In Time (PIT) count is a nationwide HUD-mandated annual census of all people experiencing homelessness. The PIT count is critical to helping Montgomery County and MCCH identify the number of households experiencing homelessness and their characteristics, the resources needed by clients to move onto to stable housing, and how best to serve our community.

Montgomery County is seeking volunteers to help with this survey in our community. This year's count will begin on Wednesday January 24 ^th at 9 p.m. and end by 4 a.m. on Thursday January 25 ^th.

Volunteers will begin the night with training and then go out in teams to designated locations throughout the county, where unsheltered people may be located.

If you are able to volunteer, please register by filling out this form by January 22 ^nd.

Donors Making a Difference

At the beginning of January, we launched our newest way to provide direct support to our clients: MCCH's Urgent Needs Task Force Facebook group.

Since its launch, every urgently needed item has been donated! Thanks to our task force stars Marwan Oweis and Jen McCormick for providing these items to our clients!

Thanks to Kelli Martinez and the residents of Brooke Grove Retirement Village for assembling and donating "New Year bags" with hygienic products for MCCH clients.
