Happy Valentine's Day, Nune!

As February reaches its halfway point, we are reminded that this month is about more than just hearts and valentines—it’s about kindness, connecting with one another, and community.

Hard times test a community’s strength, but they also reveal its greatest power: unity. True resilience isn’t found in struggling alone, but in coming together to support one another. Whether facing economic uncertainty, unexpected life changes, or the loss of a loved one, we can find strength in both giving and receiving support.

Here at Santa Maria, we emphasize the "unity" in "community," because while we may face different challenges, we stand together to ensure no one is left behind. Through our programs, partnerships, and the dedicated support of people like you, we can continue to build a foundation of hope and support for all. Together, we can turn challenges into opportunities for Greater Price Hill and beyond.

Read on to learn about an upcoming event, a celebration of our historic roots, and a simple way that you can help make a lasting impact.

Warm regards,

Doing Good, Monthly Edition!

Every month, we trust that our automatic payments—whether for gym memberships or Netflix subscriptions—are worth it. But what if giving back to your community could cost even less than a streaming service or a gym membership? By becoming a recurring donor, you can make a meaningful impact at a price that fits your budget—because anything helps.

Don't just take our word for it! Here's what one of our recurring donors, Dan, has to say about how he gives back to his community:

"I am not wealthy enough to send large checks that create instant change or cover major expenses. Instead, I’ve found that the best way to support the community I love is through smaller, consistent monthly gifts.

'Why not just write one check in December to cover it all?'

That’s not how people live, and it’s not how nonprofits budget.

A couple of years ago, I received a heartfelt thank-you note from an organization I support with a humble $8.88 each month. It read, 'There are months when hardly any money comes in, but I always know your contribution will be there. It means so much!'

I encourage you to consider this approach—spreading your giving over time to support the organizations closest to your heart."

Dan's commitment to doing good in his community is an inspiration to us all! To get your own "doing good subscription", click the orange button below.

Black History Month in

Price Hill

Happy Black History Month! This month, we reflect on the countless contributions made by Black and African American leaders, innovators, and everyday heroes who have shaped our communities, our country, and our world. By doing this, we honor the resilience, achievements, and rich cultural history that continue to inspire us all.

Right here in Price Hill, one can find the oldest African American cemetery in Hamilton County that is still in its original location, Union Baptist Cemetery. This peaceful preservation of our local Black history can be found off of Cleves Warsaw Pike and is the final resting place of many local iconic figures. Check out the articles below to learn more about this powerful legacy.

We continue to recognize the importance of service, unity, and equality in creating a better world for all. Throughout this month, we are not only remembering the leaders and visionaries of the past but also highlighting the work still being done today to uplift and empower our marginalized communities.

Sister Blandina's miraculous efforts knew no bounds, and we continue to be inspired by her legacy of serving others every day here at Santa Maria. Read more about "The Fastest Nun in the West" and her potential journey to sainthood here:
