Our sister in Christ, Marlys Mathews died on May 23 after a brief illness. Marlys gifted us with a legacy of faith, a life of service, generous love, kindness and humility. With a quiet strength, Marlys inspired and blessed family, friends, neighbors, her church, Camp Onamia and so many more. We will grieve the loss of such a beautiful servant of Christ and longstanding member of our community of faith.
Please pray for Marlys' husband, John, her daughters Julie Lind and Lori Baird and their families, and Marlys and John's extended families, for God's peace to comfort them.
We remember our Lord's words,
"I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die."
John 11: 25-26
It is with the confidence that Marlys now finds a home in God that we
will gather on Thursday, June 2, at Maple Grove Lutheran Church, to
carry her on the final length of her baptismal journey.
Please contact
Marcia Johnson, Funeral Coordinator,
to provide bars and help with serving the luncheon. Expressions of sympathy and cards can be brought to the church office for the family.
