Celebrations and Remembrances

Celebrating Our Founding and Feast Day

On February 2nd, the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur around the world celebrate their Congregational Feast Day. It is also the World Day for Consecrated Life.

On February 2, 1804, Julie Billiart and Françoise Blin de Bourdon founded the congregation, committing themselves to the ministry of education and care for the poor, especially women and children.

Across our international congregation, we celebrate “Founders' Day” with a variety of activities including liturgy, panel discussions and community service.

On Saturday, February 4, the East-West Province will celebrate St. Julie's Feast Day and our 2023 Jubilarians along with Associate anniversaries as the Sisters renew their commitment to the mission and making known God's goodness.

Remembering Our Sisters

It is with sadness that we share the passing of four Sisters, who completed their earthly journeys and went home to their good God.

Let us give thanks for their many years of faithful service to God and God’s people.
