Mary K. Boyd, Ph.D.

New President for Emmanuel College Mary K. Boyd, Ph.D. has been named the 13th president of Emmanuel College, succeeding Sister Janet Eisner, SNDdeN. The College’s Board of Trustees voted unanimously to appoint Dr. Boyd, who has decades of experience in academic leadership, including at Catholic and mission-driven institutions such as Berry College, St. Edward’s University, the University of San Diego and Loyola University Chicago. Jubilee Celebrations Sisters in the Northeast Region of the U.S. East-West Province recently celebrated Jubilees in ceremonies at the Sisters' province center in Ipswich, Mass. and at Emmanuel College in Boston. They are some of the 42 SNDdeN in the Province celebrating Jubilees in 2022. Celebrations will continue in other locations during the year. A total of 70 students and SNDdeN attended the conference.

ND Student Leaders, Sisters Gather In late June, Notre Dame students and several SNDdeN, including the entire Congregational Leadership Team, gathered for the Fifth Student Leadership Conference at Emmanuel College in Boston. In one session, students gave advice on media outreach and how to implement the SNDdeN Chapter calls. Click here for more details.

Patricia Chappell, SNDdeN (second row, center) has been named one of 20 Ambassadors of Peace.

Kudos for Sister Patty Chappell Sister Patty Chappell, a member of the leadership team of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur's U.S. East-West Province, has been selected as one of 20 new Ambassadors of Peace by Pax Christi USA, and will be recognized in a ceremony in August. Also in August, Sister Patty will be presented with the Leadership Conference of Women Religious' Outstanding Leadership Award. She was named the recipient in 2020 but has been unable to be recognized in person due to COVID-19 pandemic. Click here to learn more.
