IRELAND TOUR 2023
IRELAND TOUR will be for 6 nights October 6-13 and will concentrate on Belfast, Dublin, and the Medieval South-East with visits to Wexford and Kilkenny. Get off the beaten track on this historical, political, and musical tour.
See Belfast, one of the most interesting cities in the world. Once very segregated it is now open and we'll be escorted and re-live the history through the eyes of ex-combatants from both sides. We'll visit the Belfast Gaeltacht where Irish is spoken in the heart of this city. The picture above is of a pilgrim signing Belfast's Peace Wall. Then off to the beautiful and dramatic Glens of Antrim to experience the legendary Giant's Causeway and see just why Game of Thrones was filmed in the North of Ireland, a land of magic and fantasy.

This year we'll be introducing travelers to a mini-tour of Medieval South East Ireland. This will center on two ancient locations, Wexford, founded by The Vikings and fortified by the Normans. The narrow streets and laneways echo with history, Larry Kirwan will perform a concert at the Arts Center. This will be our first time visiting the city of Kilkenny and its storied castle. It's like stepping back in time, and on our way back to Wexford we'll visit stormy Hook Head and the oldest working lighthouse in the world.

We'll do two nights in Dublin, the city of William Butler Yeats, Oscar Wilde, James Connolly, Brendan Behan, poets, patriots, and revolutionaries. It's modern and bustling now as befits a place where U2 was formed, but down every laneway there's a story that has inspired such songs as Raglan Road and The Foggy Dew. We'll stay in the city center, walking distance to lovely parks, pubs, theaters, museums & music venues on streets that ring out with history.
