Cemetery Preservation Workshop Review
The Cemetery Preservation Technology Workshop was held June 21-23 in Helena. Thank you to all of the presenters who shared their expertise with us! We are still working on the online cemetery preservation resource web page. Once it is complete, we will share the link.
The workshop garnered attention from many sources around Montana, including a cover story in the Helena Independent Record , and two stories with the Great Falls Tribune. History Foundation conveys $1M McFarland Curatorial Center to Heritage Commission
The History Foundation has served as the steward of a 1997 cash donation that built the McFarland Curatorial Center in Virginia City, Montana and has recently conveyed the building to the Montana Heritage Commission. Completed in 1999 at the cost of approximately one million dollars, the McFarland Center has served as the conservation lab and repository for thousands of artifacts related to the history of Virginia City and Nevada City, Montana.
