Centenary Young Adults!
It's been awhile since we gathered on Zoom and even longer since we gathered in person, of course, so how about we switch things up?

Get Together at Bryan Park TODAY, from 6:30-7:45 p.m. We'll gather outdoors for some socially-distant in-person time together. The Claytons advise that we park near the entrance to the 5k loop, over towards the playground.

Carytown Burgers & Fries Lakeside is close to the park entrance. Yum. For myself, I'll probably stop there first beforehand and pick up some supper to bring over to the park. You're welcome to join me.

Looking forward to seeing you there! We'll catch up in holy conversation, spend some time in prayer for each other and for our world, and talk about doing a river float at some point this fall, too. For more information, please contact Rev. Drew Willson.

Finance Update

The 2020 Operating Budget (rounded to hundreds)
  • Centenary is blessed with faithful givers who believe in the work God directs us to do. Our contributions, pledged and unpledged, as of June are at $188,800, 95.7% of the year to date budget! This is amazing given that we have not been able to worship together since March!
  • Expenses, other than apportionments, are slightly over budget by $2,400.
  • We have paid $25,000 of the $28,600 in revised apportionments due through June. Council continues to monitor our cash position each month to determine whether apportionments can be covered, after salaries and necessary expenses.
  • As of June, paid expenses exceeded collected revenues by $8,800. It is Centenary's history that giving is generous when the need is made known.

Reminder Notes
  • Our annual giving does not cover the salaries for Pastor Tim, Pastor Drew and funding our missionaries. These items are covered by gifts and bequests.
  • We are progressing the AV systems project! Pastor Matt applied for a grant, which was approved, providing approximately $10,000 towards the $30,000 cost!

While there is more to come in 2020, we give thanks for where we are today. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to a member of the Finance Team: Herb Young, Barbara Pierson or Mitzi Golod.
