Smethie Circle News

Wednesday, April 26 at 1:00pm

We have elected to once again create kits to be made up for general conference. (Many of you might remember our taking the supplies to our treasured beach events, and assembling them there - what fun!)

This year we have chosen to make 20 health kits. The materials will be purchased and we will gather together and have fun as we assemble the kits to have them ready in time for conference. Contact the office for more information.

MORE NEWS

Earth Day Call for Tupperware!

The Pace Center (VCU campus ministry)

is requesting new and used Tupperware.

About ⅓ of VCU students will face food insecurity at some point during their school careers. For many students, a school meal plan may be too expensive. Commuter students can't afford to purchase food during the day.

The Pace Center helps by partnering with RamPantry, VCU’s student food pantry, and by hosting community meals at Pace. Volunteers at your church have participated in Pace’s meal programs by preparing a meal for Stories and Lunch, a weekly shared meal at Pace.

The Pace Center encourages students to take meal leftovers home. In order to honor our commitment to caring for creation, Pace refrains from using disposable and single-use containers. Pace is asking for new or used food storage containers to help store food and give it away to our students. Please drop off new or used containers clean and with a tight-fitting lid by April 30. A drop off box is located next to the Ladies Parlor.

Corrections to Last Week's Newsletter

We mistakenly left out Mary E. Vetrovec's name in the article about the plantings. We are always thankful for Mary E's skills and willingness to share them with us.

Also, we will celebrate the centennial of the Parish House in 2030, not 2023.
