Mary Alice Nesbitt's daughter, Jaye White, visited Centenary a few weeks ago.
Following her visit, she sent this note.
Dear Friends,
It was great to worship with you all a few weeks ago. Florence asked me what brought me there that day, and I said I was in town to pick up some of Mom's summer clothes and get a few more things out of her house. Upon reflection though, I was really there to feed my soul. Of course the preaching at Centenary is inspiring and edifying, and the music is superb (as my mother would say), but it's more than that. It's comforting to be around those of you who remember who Mary Alice was and what was important to her. As she slips further into dementia and loses more and more memories of her life and loved ones, I appreciate all the ways you continue to connect with her and welcome me.
Thanks for sending her cards and newsletters. And thanks for being so hospitable. You've been a vital part of her life for almost 40 years and your shared ministry has brought the Kin-dom a little closer to earth, as it is in heaven.
Congratulations to Stan as he moves to the next phase of life! And may the peace of Christ be with you all.
Grace upon grace,
Jaye
