Sunday, March 17, 2019- Second Sunday in Lent

 Dr. Matthew D. Bates will preach a sermon entitled 
" You Can't Stop God from Loving You! "

Come join your church family and friends on  THIS  Sunday, March 17,  following the 11:00 a.m. service for a Soup Cook-Off. Bring your favorite soup or stew to share and enter into the friendly competition. In addition to this event being a great time to fellowship with your church family and friends, it is one of our fund raisers to support Centenary as we continue to participate in Rise Against Hunger. All donations collected will go to cover our fees to participate in the Rise Against Hunger program.

Going, Going, Gone!!  The Smethie Circle of our United Methodist Womens Group have sold out of their pecans, but the good news is the sale will be back again in the fall!
An Altar Flower Liner is Missing!:
We have 2 green heavy plastic liners for our weekly altar flowers and currently one is missing! Please check around at home and perhaps you have one that you borrowed to take flowers home. If so, please let me know so we can get it back in rotation with Coleman's for our weekly altar flowers! Thanks. Sharon Steele, Altar Flowers Chair, 912-2549.

Moss on the James Chapter of the P. Buckley Moss Society Eleventh Annual Tea Party Fundraiser to benefit:

The event will take place at The Markel Corporation Conference Room (4521 Highwoods Parkway, Glen Allen, VA 23060). 

Donation: $36.00 per person. Checks can be made out to:
 P. Buckley Moss Society 

Each person is invited to bring a teacup and saucer to be used 
at the Tea Party. 

A silent auction bidding opens at 12 p.m. and lunch service 
will begin at 1 p.m. 

Come and bring family members and friends- all are welcome! 

Please RSVP by mailing in the RSVP card below and check no later than Monday, April 15. Flyers and RSVP cards can also be found on the bulletin board across from the kitchen.

Change the World RVA is celebrating the fifth anniversary of Another Woman's Treasure - an accessories bazaar benefiting Change the World RVA. We are collecting jewelry and purses to donate to the sale. A collection box is in the office. The bazaar is on Friday, April 13, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, April 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bon Air United Methodist Church.

Geraniums come in multiple colors (we will take orders for specific colors but cannot guarantee specific colors

Colors are as follows:  coral , hot pink , salmon , red, and white

They are $4.50 each and please make  CHECKS OUT ONLY to UMCOR. Please turn in all money for orders to Pat Shipley.

The sign-up sheet can be found on the bulletin board across from the kitchen.  For additional information, see Pat Shipley. 

The last day for orders and to turn in money for orders is Sunday, March 24. 


Thursday, May 2, at 6 p.m. 

Quiche and salad dinner at the home of Mary E. Vetrovec. All the ladies of the church are invited. Please bring a quiche, salad, dessert or bread to share.

You are invited to join a travel group from Centenary and friends on a special planned trip by Collette Travel Group. The ten-day trip is scheduled for  September 19 - 28, 2019 . If you are interested, please sign up on the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board across from the kitchen and pick up a brochure.
