CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

The Centennial Boulevard Extension project is providing connection between Fillmore Street 

and the Interstate-25 / Fontanero Street interchange. Portions of the corridor have been 

constructed, or partially constructed, through past developments and City projects. 

This new phase of the project will complete the roadway connection.

Interstate 25 and Fontanero ramp closures

for utility work



The third and final phase of the Centennial Boulevard Extension project will begin

Monday, February 27 with ramp closures.

In preparation for large-scale utility work, the intersection at Fontanero Street and Interstate

25 ramps will require two partial closures each lasting for approximately three months. These closures are necessary for the safety of the traveling public and allow for faster construction timelines, minimizing overall traffic impacts to the public.

Traffic Impacts begin at 7 a.m., Monday, Feb. 27

The first three-month closure affects the I-25 ramps to the north side of Fontanero Street.

• Full closure of the northbound on-ramp at I-25 and Fontanero Street
• Full closure of the southbound off-ramp at I-25 and Fontanero Street
• The westbound lanes of Fontanero Street under the interstate will also be closed resulting in two-way traffic shifted to the eastbound lanes of Fontanero Street. 

Detours in place:

• Southbound I-25 traffic will need to exit at Uintah, north to Walnut Street, to North Chestnut Street taking you to Centennial/Fontanero Street.
• Eastbound traffic on Fontanero intending to head north on I-25 should go south on I-25 instead and exit at W. Uintah Street, then left on W. Uintah to I-25 northbound.
• Westbound traffic on Fontanero intending to head north on I-25 should take Centennial north to Fillmore Street, east on Fillmore then north onto I-25.
