CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

The Centennial Boulevard Extension project is providing connection between Fillmore Street
and the Interstate-25 / Fontanero Street interchange. Portions of the corridor have been
constructed, or partially constructed, through past developments and City projects.
This new phase of the project will complete the roadway connection. 

Fontanero and Chestnut Intersection temporary closure Oct. 4 - 8
The intersection at Chestnut and Fontanero streets will be temporarily closed for roadway paving beginning at 7 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 4 through 5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8. All activity is resource and weather dependent.

Traffic impacts
  • Tuesday through Saturday, Oct. 4 - 8, a temporary, full closure of the intersection at Chestnut and Fontanero streets (see map below) for roadway paving.

  • Traffic will be detoured north to Fillmore Street and south to Uintah Street. Recreation Way is also available for use on the east side of I-25.

  • Please observe and follow all detour signage for your safety.
No electrical, phone or internet service is anticipated to be interrupted however, unexpected circumstances may arise with any construction activity. If you experience any issues with utilities, please contact your provider directly.

Mesa Springs Trail Access
Bicyclists and pedestrians using the Mesa Springs Greenway Trail at the northwest and southwest corners of the intersection can follow the construction fencing in place on both north and south sides of Fontanero Street (noted as orange lines on the map above), and cross Fontanero Street at the crosswalks to re-access the trail on the other side of Fontanero Street (noted as red dots on the map above).
