CHS eNEWS         September 2014
CENTENNIAL HIGH SCHOOL PTSA'S ONLINE NEWSLETTER

Dear Centennial Family,
The Centennial High School PTSA is working on better ways to inform our school community about the events and great things that are happening at Centennial High School.   This monthly enews is one our new features. We understand that your time is valuable, so we've tried to keep this email as brief as possible.  For further information on these subjects below and more, please access our PTSA website.

Freshman Parent Night

Parents of freshman, please join us on September 29, 2014 @ 6:30 PM in the Centennial HS Auditorium.  Whether this is your first time as a high school parent or not, come and learn more about the recent changes in graduation requirements and other important information to help your student succeed. Event program will include:  Kibbey Crumbley, Principal; Lisa Martin, PTSA Co-President; Melissa Freeman, School Counselor; Special Guest: Tracy McConaghie, McConaghie Family Counseling.  Ms. McConaghie will talk about helping our students maintain balance in their lives.

Redistricting

With the construction of a new elementary school in Roswell, additions and rebuilding at other area schools, Fulton County Schools is embarking on new redistricting efforts.  We have been told that every school in North Fulton may be affected. The school district has learned from their past mistakes and will be very proactive in soliciting input and providing communities with information.  We have received assurance from a school board member that every map will be available to the community before decisions and votes are made.  The Centennial Cluster is committing to work together.   Redistricting meetings are planned for:
  • Round One - October 8, 7-9pm at Centennial High School
  • Round Two - November 5, 7-9pm at Alpharetta High School
  • Round Three - December 10, 7-9pm at Centennial High School
More information can be found on our  website and Like us on Facebook.  We will update both sites to with new information as we receive them.
