Dear Centennial Family!

Centennial High School PTSA Communications Committee is committed to providing you with timely monthly updates on upcoming events and school information as well as k eeping you informed on the many accomplishments and successes of our students and faculty.  This year we hope to increase your access into the variety of day to day activities that occur on campus.

2015 - 2016 Orientation

The Centennial PTSA is once again pleased to be supporting our school by serving as welcome ambassadors for you, our students and parents!

Please follow the checklist outlined below by our proud principal, Ms. Crumbley, and feel free to ask any Centennial faculty member or PTSA parent volunteer if you need help with anything at all - we are so glad you are at Centennial, where your best days are ahead!

Open the checklist for the appropriate grade level to get more information on what to do at Open House. If the student is a 9th Grader or a new to Centennial 10th , 11th or 12th grader - make sure you read step 4 regarding proof of residency.  Also if you purchased a PTSA membership by July 31st during the top locker promotion, please bring proof of your membership purchase (paper or electronic) to receive your Top Locker.  Your Paypal receipt (paper or electronic) will suffice.  Locker fees are $25 for all students.

Top Locker Promotion

Join the Centennial High School PTSA no later than July 31st, 2015 and be eligible for the Top Locker Promotion.

Here's how it works: For each PTSA membership that you purchase, you receive eligibility to purchase one top locker for your student, subject to availability.  Locker fees are $25 and must be paid to the school when you are assigned the locker.  Due to the popularity of this promotion last year, we have to limit the number of lockers that we reserve based on the number available in the school. We are running this promotion through July 31st, but we expect to run out before that, so don't hesitate. Click here or go to and click on the "JOIN PTSA Online!" link to the left of the page.  You can also print out the form and bring it to the CHS Front Office or get the form at the Front Office and submit it there by July 31.

By joining the Centennial PTSA, you show your kids that school is important, you are invested in their success and you ensure parents have a voice when important decisions about our schools are being made. In addition to supporting Centennial High School & the PTSA, you receive these other benefits:

  1. Your membership donation is tax-deductible.
  2. Your membership card provides you with discounts at Staples, Hertz, Chattahoochee Nature Center, Zoo Atlanta, and the Alliance Theatre to name just a few.
  3. Your membership donation helps fund school programs such as the Reflections program, scholarships, teacher and staff support, mini grants, monthly newsletter, website and many others.
  4. When you join Centennial HS PTSA, you also join the Georgia state and national PTA and become part of a national effort to improve the education, health, and welfare of every child.

Please note: You will receive an email confirmation/tax receipt within two weeks of joining.

Proof of your membership purchase required at Orientation to receive your Top Locker.   Your Paypal receipt (paper or electronic) will suffice.

Centennial's College Week is set to take place the week of October 26. Over the course of the week, there will be a variety of activities, workshops and events focusing on college related topics and providing learning opportunities to help students in their preparation for post-secondary education.

Most events will be voluntary; however there will be a few which are school-wide events which will engage all CHS students. Students in all grade levels are welcomed and encouraged to participate. Every day there will be several opportunities for students to win prizes-the more they participate the greater their chances of winning! The culminating event of the week is "Centennial Applies to College." This event provides every senior an opportunity to complete a college application during the school day. School counselors, college representatives and community volunteers are on hand to provide students with as much assistance as they need to complete the application process. Please visit our counseling website homepage for a brief summary of the College Week events from 2014.

Remember to Use your Publix Scan Cards!

Do you know that the CHS PTSA has received over $14,000 from Publix over the years?!  That is a lot of money - and it takes no effort at all.  Just use your scan card every time that you make a purchase at Publix.  If you do not have a scan card, you can get one at the front desk.  They are available throughout the school year.  You or your student can pick up extra cards for grandparents, friends and neighbors to use.  Everyone buys groceries, and having these cards scanned when you shop at Publix is an easy way to help CHS PTSA!
