Friday, August 7 Golf Tournament

The time has come for the 20th annual Swinging@AIDS Golf Tournament! Whether you are a golfer or not, please consider joining us on the course or as a sponsor. Proceeds will benefit our humanitarian projects in India and general operations.

These projects include the New Hope and New Life program in Chennai, which provides income generating projects for worthy individuals, and the Snehakunja Children's Home in Kolkata, providing education, medical, and nutritional assistance for 41 kids affected by HIV. Your support changes lives! 

Online Silent Auction is Open

This year's golf tournament silent auction is online and open to all! One does not have to attend the tournament to bid and win. Click below and peruse the more than 60 items available. From tickets (Broncos, Rockies, Opera, Symphony) and gift cards (Ruth's Chris, Benihana) to jewelry and chocolate, we've gathered a lot of joy for you to bid on. The winning bidders will be automatically charged for their winning items when the auction closes August 7 at 1pm. For those who are not attending the golf tournament, we will either ship or drop off your winning item(s) the week of August 10th.

Goat Project Meru, Kenya

This summer, the Center launched a goat-rearing project to assist 15 vulnerable families living with HIV or AIDS. In partnership with the MCK Kaaga Synod, the project aims to enhance household food security, improve nutrition, and create a sustainable source of income for these families. 

September 17 20th Anniversary Celebration

Join us for the Center’s 20th Anniversary Celebration at Denver’s Jewish Community Center.

The dinner and program will celebrate our past and inspire what’s ahead, featuring cultural cuisine and entertainment, special guests, and more. Bonnie and Don Messer will be honored with the Global Impact Award for their many years of dedicated service.

New Homes and Care in Meru County

We are so grateful for the 12 volunteers from Hope United Methodist Church who recently traveled to Kenya in July, spending time supporting several Center projects, including the dedication of two homes for worthy families, and helping staff a medical camp that helped over 500 people in the community. Many lives were touched by their care and compassion and we're grateful for their partnership.

Introducing the Hope, History, & Humanity Workshops

Mark your calendars for this series of FREE workshops open to the entire Denver community. Organized by the Center, the workshops will focus on understanding HIV in 2026, the impact of stigma, and LGBTQ+ history and the fight for equality.

Dates: Wednesday, September 23, October 21, and November 18

Location: Park Hill United Methodist Church

Time: 6-7:30pm

Community-partners: The Center on Colfax, Vivent Health, Colorado Health Network, Gilead, and Park Hill UMC. Sponsored by the Church and Society Grant Program of the United Methodist Church.

Center Spotlight: Silas Kaimenyi

Over the years, Silas has been both a recipient of the Center's support and a valued partner in our work. As a young student, Ann Fort (of blessed memory) recognized his remarkable potential. Through her generosity, along with the support of faithful donors, Silas received the education that helped shape his future.

Today, Silas is giving back. He has become a trusted mentor and friend to the Center's post-secondary scholars, encouraging them as they pursue their own educational goals. In July, he began an exciting new chapter as a member of the Finance Department at Kenya Methodist University, while continuing to mentor our scholars.

Silas's story is a powerful reminder that investing in education creates opportunities that extend far beyond a single student. It develops leaders, mentors, and changemakers who strengthen their communities and inspire the next generation. Consider providing a partial or full scholarship today!
