Introducing the GECC AIDS Care & Support Program for Children Orphaned by AIDS

Led by our longtime partners and friends, Stanley and Mary Gitari, this important new initiative takes place in Meru County, Kenya. One hundred childen, including teenagers who are receiving HIV antiretroviral treatment, will receive educational and psychosocial support.

Our objectives include providing caregiver support, and the expansion of ten "anti-HIV/AIDS" clubs in local schools. These clubs address ignorance, stigma, and discrimination in the community.

Congratulations 2026 Graduates

Congratulations to our 2026 graduates, including Hope Gatwiri, who just completed a three-year course in General Nursing, Midwifery, and Community Health Nursing.

"This achievement is not mine alone. It is a direct result of your kindness and commitment to empowering others. You have not only supported my education but also opened the door to a stable and promising future. I am now able to stand on my own, contribute meaningfully to society, and positively impact the lives of those in need," shared Ms. Gatwiri.

August 7 Swinging@AIDS Golf Tournament

We’re celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Center’s beloved golf tournament, which supports our programs in India and general operations.

Join us at Applewood Golf Course in Golden for a memorable day on the course, including a special luncheon tribute honoring our 2026 Humanitarians of the Year, Jean and Ben Galloway.

Longs Peak UMC: Paul & Paula Murphy Human Rights Award Recipients

This year's annual brunch at the University of Denver was a big success, as we raised over $52k towards our Gift of H.O.P.E. program, helping children orphaned by AIDS in Meru, Kenya with education, nutrition, and health support.

Congratulations to our friends at Longs Peak United Methodist Church, who were honored with the Paul & Paula Murphy Human Rights Award for promoting equality and equity, and their commitment to helping those living with HIV and AIDS through our work in Kenya.

May 28 is Menstrual Hygiene Day

Menstrual Hygiene Day is a global awareness and advocacy day aiming to end stigma, and ensure access to menstrual products to women around the world. The inability to afford or access menstrual products, affects millions.

Period poverty is both a health and human rights issue. Support the Center by making a donation that will go towards programs in India and Kenya to help girls and women stay in school or work with the proper sanitary supplies, along with menstrual hygiene education.

September 17 20th Anniversary Celebration

Join us for the Center’s 20th Anniversary Celebration at Denver’s Jewish Community Center.

The dinner and program will celebrate our past and inspire what’s ahead, featuring cultural dance and cuisine, special guests, and more. Bonnie and Don Messer will be honored with the Global Impact Award for their years of dedicated service.
