With the support of a generous donor, the Center is proud to announce a new Grief Support Program to launch in January, 2026.

Held at the CSI Egmore Wesley Church for both its members and the community-at-large, the program will provide compassionate, effective, and theologically grounded counseling to individuals and families navigating loss and trauma. Stay tuned for updates in the new year!

The Center could not help the marginalized and vulnerable without valued partners like Catherine Mutua.

Currently the Director of the Methodist Treatment Centre in Meru which is committed to helping those with mental and substance use disorders, Catherine is currently running in a special election to be the first female Bishop in the history of the Methodist church in Kenya.

Her devotion and compassion for serving others is second-to-none. In addition to her work at the Treatment Centre, Catherine helps the Center for Health and Hope by setting up medical camps to help the Meru community, as well as building homes for families in need.

International Advisory Board Update

The Center benefits from the vision, expertise, and experience of the members of our International Advisory Board which has included such luminaries as Senators George McGovern and Bob Dole.

We are thrilled to welcome Ashirafu Tuyishime from Rwanda to the Advisory Board. His passion in public health and supporting vulnerable children comes from his own experience, losing his parents to AIDS as a nine-year-old. Ashirafu is currently a nursing and biology student at Abilene Christian University in Texas. Welcome Ashirafu!

Remembering Rev. Teri Todd

The Center's 2019 Humanitarian of the Year, Teri left an indelible mark on all of us who knew her and on many people who never knew her name.

Her commitment to the marginalized and impoverished in India and Kenya reflected her deep compassion and unwavering belief in the dignity of every human being. We send our condolences to Teri's family and friends.

India Trip: January 2026

A group of six Center for Health and Hope supporters is planning on a mid-January trip to Kolkata, Chennai, and Namakkal to visit the Center's programs of education, prevention, care, and treatment.
