INTERGENERATIONAL SPEED-STORYTELLING (In-person at Monument Hall, 1 Monument Drive (in front of the Suzanne Patterson Building)
Tuesday, November 12, 7:00–8:00 p.m.
We’re thrilled to announce our new Intergenerational Speed Storytelling program! This magical event will bring together youth from Municipality of Princeton teen leadership team and older adults from CMAP for an evening of sharing stories and creating connections. Set up like a cozy speed-dating café, each table will pair an older adult with a young person, and conversation prompts like "What's your earliest memory?" or "Tell me your favorite holiday story" will get the dialogue flowing. With a timer guiding each round, you'll rotate tables every 5-10 minutes, sharing and listening to fresh stories as you go.
This event is a unique opportunity for older adults to share their wisdom and for youth to offer their vibrant perspectives, fostering respect and understanding across generations.

DR. DONALD JOHANSON WITH CARL ZIMMER: “DISCOVERING LUCY” (In-Person at NSK Location)

Join renowned paleoanthropologist Dr. Donald Johanson and New York Times science journalist Carl Zimmer on the fiftieth anniversary of a major milestone in paleoanthropology — Johanson’s discovery of “Lucy,” one of the oldest known skeletons of an early human ancestor.

Discovered in Ethiopia’s Afar region in 1974, Lucy is about 3.2 million years old. Though similar in size to a chimpanzee, her bone structure showed she walked upright — a key development in human evolution. Lucy’s discovery by Dr. Johanson attracted worldwide attention. Join Johanson and Carl Zimmer as they discuss why her discovery remains significant for understanding human evolution, what Lucy has revealed about our origins, the circumstances surrounding her unearthing, and why she continues to captivate us. PPL’s MORNING TECH SERIES: HANDY KITCHEN GADGETS (Zoom)
Wednesday, November 13 at 10:00 a.m.
Discover the wide array of tools and gadgets that can be helpful in your kitchen.
This class gives an overview of the various tools and electronics available to use in your kitchen. From ones that do the cooking to helpful gadgets, we will cover what they do, how they work, and resources for selecting the right one for you. Gadgets include pressure cookers, slow cookers, air fryers, mixers, yogurt makers and more. Instructor: Becky Bowers

ONSTAGE SENIORS PERFORMANCE "GIVE & TAKE" (Princeton Public Library, Community Room, Princeton, NJ)

OnStage Seniors presents "documentary theater" on the theme of "Give and Take." The performance will include a talk-back, encouraging participants to find common ground through stories told on stage.
OnStage Seniors gathers true stories from the community and uses them to create monologues and scenes on a yearly theme led by director David Lee White, this season's program, "Give and Take" invites audiences to connect and find common ground through heartfelt performances. Our Ensemble discovers stories through story circles and interviews across Central New Jersey, ensuring that every voice is heard and honored on stage. Join us for an unforgettable experience celebrating the power of storytelling.
Formerly associated with McCarter Theater, OnStage Seniors is now under the umbrella of the Center for Modern Aging Princeton.
