“The Farewell” is a comedy-drama about a Chinese-American woman named Billi who returns to China when her beloved grandmother (“Nai Nai”) is diagnosed with terminal cancer. To protect the grandmother from the emotional weight of her illness, the family stages an impromptu wedding as an excuse to gather and say their goodbyes.

VIRTUAL READING: "WHAT TO THE SLAVE IS THE FOURTH OF JULY?" (In-Person at Morven Museum & Garden, 55 Stockton St.)
Saturday, July 4, Noon to 3:00 p.m.
Morven Museum & Garden will host its annual Fourth of July Festival featuring a dramatic reading of Frederick Douglass' 1852 speech "What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?" by award-winning poet David Mills. The museum will be open free of charge, including two new exhibitions: "Five Independent Souls: The Signers from New Jersey" and "Northern Family, Southern Ties." Entertainment includes contemporary music from the Vintage Vibe Tribe and period music with John Burkhalter of the Practitioners of Musick.
Community partners include the Princeton Public Library, Princeton YWCA, Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum, Not In Our Town Princeton and RevolutionNJ.
Additional activities include garden tours, open archives with the Historical Society of Princeton, artmaking and crafts, facepainting, a chance to sign the Declaration of Independence, food trucks, lawn games and door prizes.

MERCER COUNTY ANNOUNCES 2026 SENIOR ART SHOW
County Executive Dan Benson and the Board of Commissioners invite seniors throughout Mercer County to participate in the 2026 Mercer County Senior Art Show, to be held July 20 through August 6 at the Conference Center at Mercer, Mercer County Community College, West Windsor, New Jersey.
The show is open to any Mercer County resident age sixty or older. First-place winners from the county show are automatically included in the New Jersey Senior Citizen Art Show. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. A closing reception will be held on August 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Artwork not selected to advance to the New Jersey Senior Art Show will be released to the artist immediately following the reception.
