DAY 1: What To Expect
In case you missed it, our first day of school is WEDNESDAY, AUGUST !5. The schedule is unlike any other day of the year, so here's what your student can expect:
  • As always, school begins at 8:00 a.m. Drop off and pick up are in the circle lot. Students can be dropped off any time after 7:00 a.m.
  • It’s a half day with early dismissal following our 11:20 a.m. all-school Mass in the auditorium. You are welcome to join us for Mass. We anticipate that Mass will conclude around 12:20.
  • Lunch will not be served on this day.
  • Students will not follow their schedules on this day, they will pretty much travel with their classes.
  • We’ll get all devices connected to the Central Catholic Wi-Fi network, so make sure your student brings the device he or she plans to use this year.
  • It’s picture day. Central Catholic has partnered with YNI Sports to capture portraits the first few days of school. Download the picture order form for students to turn in when their picture is taken.
  • Freshman, Sophomore and Junior students wear school dress code attire. The dress code does not just apply to clothing. All students must be compliant with hair, facial hair and appearance or will be required to come in at a later date for a retake.
  • ATTENTION SENIOR PARENTS: Per tradition, the school requests Senior Boys wear dress code pants with a white button up collared shirt (we will provide a Central Catholic monogrammed tie to wear with the shirt). The Senior Girls should arrive in uniform and will be provided a top.
REMINDER: Turn In Additional Paperwork
& Get Schedules & Locker Info By THURSDAY
Student schedules and lockers are now available . But first ...
There is additional paperwork to be turned in between Wednesday, August 1 and Thursday, August 9 . Once everything on this list is turned in, we will release your student's schedule and locker information. Please read and follow all of these points so we can release your schedule :
  • Complete, sign & return these linked forms between August 1 - 9. The forms can be filled out on your computer then printed and signed or printed and filled out by hand. One of the forms confirms that you have read and understand the Student Handbook which is linked here. The parking permit form needs to be filled out whether your student is driving to school or not. Choose the proper paperwork link for your student:
  • All financial obligations are up-to-date.
  • Physicals are turned in.
  • SENIORS have turned in a shot record (Illinois Law).
  • Any students coming to Central Catholic from outside the state must have an Eye Exam from a doctor in the State of Illinois (again, Illinois Law).
Check out the ALL NEW Saints FAN Club ! Use the brochure or go online to purchase a Reserved Parking Spot for home football or basketball games or a Season Family Pass . The Saints FAN Club (Funding Athletic Needs) is the main volunteer and fundraising vehicle for all Saints Athletics Programs. There are several packages to consider for parking and season passes, and corporate sponsorship opportunities available on our scoreboards and in the printed seasonal sports programs. A Sign-Up Genius will be available soon to help with fall sports volunteer opportunities like helping in a concession stand. Go Saints!
Senior Car Wash SATURDAY
Our annual Senior Class Charity Car Wash is SATURDAY, August 11 from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and benefits our Senior Class Charity, St. Vincent de Paul. Start getting your car dirty now!
School Supplies
Here is a list of school supplies by class. In addition to this list, plan on spiral notebooks and pocket folders for each class and pens/pencils/highlighters for writing. If you do not see a certain class listed, that means your student will receive info on the first day of class. This is a Google Doc and may be updated again before the school year begins so be sure to check back occasionally.
