150th Celebration

A weekend of festivities will mark the 150th year of Central Catholic High School.

Football Game
On October 2, 2015, a weekend of events will begin as the Maroon Knights take on the the Linsly Cadets at the Bishop Schmidt Football Field on the campus of Wheeling Jesuit University. This game will serve as the platform for all alumni to re-connect with Central Catholic High School. An Alumni tent will be on site to welcome visitors. The alumni area will also be the perfect place to grab a snack, purchase memorabilia, and update your contact information. CCHS is currently working to create an Alumni Association. Information gathered at this event will assist us in the formation of this association.
You will not want to miss the half-time show! Rumor has it that the Knight in armor will ride again. The Alumni Pep Band will delight the crowd as well.

Admission to the game is $5 per person / $2 senior citizens. The game will also be available on our streaming channel www.MaroonKnightTV.com

Brothers' and Sisters' Board Room Dedication
On October 3rd we will unveil our newest renovation to room 101. This new Boardroom will be dedicated to all of the Religious who
have served CCHS over the years. The Most Reverend Michael J Bransfield will preside over the dedication. All are welcome to attend at 10:30am.

Knights Reunite Dinner -SOLD OUT
Join us for a very special evening filled with friends, family, and fellowship on October 3rd as we celebrate 150 years of Catholic education at Central. See invitation below for more information. To purchase tickets go online to www.cchsknights.org .

Mass at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph
Join us on October 4th at 10:30 am as we conclude our weekend celebration with Mass  tours of the school facilities and a light reception to follow.
Programming Students win Pizza Party

Students in our programming class won a pizza party because they were able to answer a collegiate level programming problem. Using multiple loops and decisions, students solved a mathematical problem using Microsoft Powershell. Students who take this corse learn about logic, algebra, and decision making to create computer programs.

CCHS Transcripts
ACT and SAT test scores will no longer appear on a student's transcript from CCHS. Today, colleges prefer test scores to come directly from the testing organization rather than the high school. Please remember that when registering for the ACT and SAT, students have the option to select up to four colleges to receive their score for no additional fee; we encourage students to take advantage of this option. Students may also send their scores AFTER they have taken the test by contacting ACT or the College Board (SAT) directly; however, a fee will be assessed. Please contact the Guidance Office should you have any questions about this new policy.

NCAA Eligibility Requirements
The initial-eligibility standards for high school student-athletes who want to participate in NCAA Division I and II sports are changing. If student-athletes don't take the required courses or get the required grades in high school, they won't be able to make it off the bench in college. To be sure you have all the facts, visit the following NCAA website: www.2point3.org

If your student wishes to play Division I sports, he/she should have his ACT or SAT scores sent directly to the NCAA Clearinghouse by indicating code "9999" on the list of score recipients when he/she registers for the exam. The NCAA will not accept scores sent by CCHS.
