Message from the President

Happy New Year Everyone!
As the newly elected president of CCFC, I am really looking forward to this year and what we, with the support of our generous donors (listed in the newsletter) can do in 2025 to continue supporting the needs of disadvantaged and at-risk children in San Luis Obispo County.
Last year, together, we raised enough to allow us to disburse $107,500 in grants. This brings our total since 1994 to $2,174,665.
We are already brainstorming what we can do to continue this level of support. One consistent theme is that we need more members. A great way to learn about us

|
is to attend our annual Supporter Luncheon at SLO Country Club on March 19. We invite our grant recipients to speak to us about the work they do, and it is very inspiring. If you are interested in learning more about our organization, or attending the luncheon, please reach out to me, or any CCFC member.
I love being a member of CCFC not only for the work it does, but also for introducing me to a wonderful group of friendly, intelligent, compassionate, hard-working and fun women. Please consider joining us!

Each October, CCFC recognizes our wonderful trustees, ladies who were members of our organization for ten or more years. Many of the trustees were founding members of Central Coast Funds for Children. Prior to 1993, CCFC was a donor to Children’s Home Society, a private adoption agency. At that time, the primary source of funds was the Gift Box, a floral and gift shop at French Hospital, and was operated by volunteer members. In 1993, the Gift Box closed, and the women decided to create a local non-profit corporation with the mission of raising funds to support children in need in SLO County. In 1994, CCFC achieved legal IRS status as a non-profit corporation and has operated as Central Coast Funds for Children since that time. Thank you, Ricki Pace, for chairing this event.

So Many Shoes ... and Only Two Feet!
|
|
Each December, CCFC asks the Child Development Resource Center for a list of children, which includes their ages and shoes sizes. Thanks to the organization of Trustee Jeanette Meek, members and trustees purchased shoes, socks and a small toy for each child whose name they selected. A sincere thanks to all the members and trustees who generously donated shoes, socks and toys.
