We had a great District Assembly at Dothan First Church this year. We desired to make District Assembly a time of sharing ideas for reaching our communities and a time of worship. I believe we accomplished these goals. Dothan First Church not only did an amazing job hosting, but they also did an amazing job leading us in worship for assembly. At times, it felt less like a business assembly and more like a worship service.
We also had many shared reports of community reach. We are better together, and we are better when we learn from each other. Hopefully, every church heard a “Reach” idea that they could take home and implement for their community reach.

Crestview Church of the Nazarene was the recipient of our first annual Towel and Basin Award. Congratulations Crestview!
We honored three retiring pastors, recognized several newly licensed pastors, and ordained seven. This was a highlight of our time together. Dr. Scott Daniels led us well and preached some amazing messages. We had a great time together and had a record attendance! Go ahead and make plans to join us next May for District Assembly and Conventions 2025 at Pensacola First Church. You don’t want to miss it!
Churches in Transition:
Please continue to pray for our Tuscaloosa Holten Heights, Pace New Faith, and Landmark churches as they continue to pray about their next pastor.

ATTENTION CHURCH TREASURERS
In order to receive proper credit for NTS/NBC gifts, reporting should be done as follows:
All gifts to NTS or NBC must be reported on the Funding the Mission website via the point to point reporting method. These gifts will be credited as approved point to point giving.
AUDIT OF TREASURER'S BOOKS
Every church is advised to conduct an annual audit of the financial records of the treasurer(s) of the church. This includes the NYI, NDI, NMI, Nazarene childcare/schools, and any other financial records of the church as mandated in the Manual of the Church of the Nazarene.
CHURCH PROOF OF INSURANCE & INCORPORATION PAPERS
The District Advisory Board requests that all churches provide proof of insurance, in addition to filing incorporation papers at the District Office; unless your church has already done so.

What a blessed time we had at District Conventions and Assembly this year! At our NDI Convention, we celebrated what God has done this past year, and we were informed of things to come this coming year. Dr. Dale Schaeffer, Florida District Superintendent, shared a message challenging us and showing us how to be more effective disciples and disciple makers.
He began by asking us all a question: What vehicle did you use to get to convention today? For all of us, it was similar but different. Some in a car, some in a truck, some in a church van, but not all in the same car or truck or church van. As Christians, we have all entered into a relationship with Christ through different ways and in different points in our lives.
Dr. Schaeffer gave several examples of how to reach the lost and reminded us that not everyone will come to Christ in the same way or at the same time in their lives. We need to approach every day seeking opportunities to share the gospel. We need to be intentional about making disciples.
If you would like to hear Dr. Schaeffer’s message in its entirety, the full NDI Convention can be viewed at Dothan First Church of the Nazarene’s YouTube channel. See y’all at Team Day!

Praise God and special thanks to the 44 churches who submitted their Local NMI Statistical Report for 2023-24. Of the 44, 36 were Mission Priority One Churches meaning they prayed for missions, paid their WEF in full, gave something to Alabaster, engaged their children/youth in missions, and connected with our Links missionaries. Others were almost there, so keep up the good work. It truly took a team effort to not only meet but exceed our district World Evangelism Fund goal of $260,000. The total given was $273,000! Lives are being changed for eternity, missionaries are supported, and so much more, by your faithful giving.
I’m thankful to report that 19 CGC churches received the WEF Church of Excellence status and 5 churches were Mission 10 Churches.
Let’s work together this year as we REACH into our local communities doing what we do, showing the love of Christ to our neighbors.

Distinguished Service Award
Donna Angerbrandt
| |
Work & Witness Coordinator Emeritus - June Jarrell
Each year the District NMI Council selects an individual to honor with the Distinguished Service Award. This is the highest award the church can bestow on an individual. We look for individuals that have shown a love for missions and have given of their time and talents, without hesitation, to spread the gospel over a significant period of time. They have worked tirelessly without recognition or applause, doing whatever is needed to be done! This year’s recipient, Donna Angerbrandt, has all of these characteristics.
June Jarrell was presented the District Work & Witness Coordinator Emeritus Award during the 41st CGC District NMI Convention at Dothan on May 14, 2024. “Miss June” or “Big Mama” as most people call her, has been on more mission trips serving as a trip leader or team member than probably all of us put together. This precious lady has been involved in missions and mission trips for over a half century. We, and thousands across the world, are happy that God is still using her today.
