Student Grades/Attendance
Please check your student's grades for seated courses in eSchool. We will continue to post student grades in eSchool. Please check your student's grades online, and communicate with your student's teachers. Our goal is that all students are academically successful, please encourage your student to submit all assignments.
If your student is taking a LAUNCH course or is fully virtual, their grades will be kept updated in Canvas.
eSchool is the official gradebook for SPS. eSchool is where you can view your students' grades (completed assignments) as well as monitor attendance. If your child's teacher has not updated grades, please contact your child's teacher.
Canvas is the place in our district where teachers and the curriculum department put digital learning materials. By logging in with your parent Home Access Center account information, you can view teacher content as well as electronic text books. Please note that the gradebook in Canvas is not the official gradebook for your child.

Grades & D/F Phone Calls
Grades in eSchool are the official grades for seated students. CHS will send bi-weekly phone messages to the homes of students who have a D or F in any of their classes. If you have not accessed your student's information in eSchool or Canvas, please do so. If you receive the phone call please check eSchool to see what class(es) your student has the D/F. We also recommend you contact the teacher with questions, concerns, or you feel an error has been made.
For clarification, the report used to determine who receives these calls runs at 4:30 a.m. the day you receive the call. It is possible teachers update grades during the course of the day. Again, please check eSchool on a regular basis and direct questions to the teacher(s).

Counselor's Corner
The time has come for our CHS seniors to walk across the stage to celebrate their hard work. As your seniors' high school journey comes to end and their future begins to take shape, we are thankful that we have had the opportunity and your trust to guide and develop their vision beyond Central High School.
With less three quarters left of their senior year, it is also a time that can become confusing, stressful, and exciting. Our goal is to provide proper planning and clear communication to the families of CHS to ensure we alleviate any anxieties within this exciting time for your student and family. It is important to get key events on your calendar.
Senior meeting will be conducted on Friday, November 4, 2022. Seniors will have the opportunity to order their Cap and Gown on Friday, November 18, 2022 from Jostens.

International Baccalaureate (IB)
Did you know that EVERY 9th and 10th grade student is an IB Bulldog at Central High School? All 9th and 10th graders are part of the IB Middle Years Program (MYP), which helps prepare students for future learning in 11th and 12th grades, but also to be better citizens of the world. We take P.R.I.D.E. in our inquiry based learning, our pursuit of critical thinking, and our approach to learning through an international mindset. We are excited for the year ahead, and want to challenge any of those students who might not see themselves as “IB material” to be risk-takers, and think about taking an IB course in their junior and senior years, or even try on the Diploma or Career Programs!
What MYP offers students?
The MYP aims to develop active learners and internationally minded young people who can empathize with others and pursue lives of purpose and meaning.
The programme empowers students to inquire into a wide range of issues and ideas of significance locally, nationally and globally. The result is young people who are creative, critical and reflective thinkers.
Please view our the IB learner profiles and visit the IB website below:

PTSA Message
Central High School is a dynamic institution that takes pride in our school, academic, athletics, and activity success. Families from all over Springfield have chosen Central High as their educational home for their students and the heritage we have as a cornerstone in Springfield bring us together as a cohesive Bulldog nation.
This year, the Central High School Parent Student Association is sponsoring a capital campaign to provide Central with tangible long term improvements. PTSA is providing valuable support to our school including:
- Support of Hunger, Hygiene, and Health initiatives throughout the year
- Senior Scholarships
- Staff Appreciation Gifts and Events
And while these are beneficial, we know we can do more! As funds allow this year, we would like to expand our impact by meeting needs that have been brought to our attention. Our goal is to raise $7,500 used to directly benefit our students and staff! Any size investment will make a difference.
Please help us support Bulldog Nation with donations today!
