MISSION STATEMENT
Central Oregon Chapter - Professional Engineers of Oregon
"To be actively involved in promoting professional engineering in Central Oregon; to provide an ongoing opportunity for continuing education in the field of professional engineering; to provide awareness and scholarship opportunities to college-bound engineering students from Central Oregon; and to promote and provide assistance to engineers to become licensed while promoting fellowship."
CENTRAL OREGON PEO SOCIAL POSTPONED DUE TO SNOW
Due to the significant snow accumulation anticipated through today, this evening’s event in honor of Bill Tye will be postponed. Please mark your calendars for the evening of March 8. We will meet at Olde Town Pizza after 5 p.m. on that Friday evening till around 7 p.m. or later if we’d like to linger. Pizza will be provided, and you’ll be on your own for beverages. Another reminder will be sent closer to the event. Stay safe and stay warm.

Upcoming Meeting Information, Current Events, PEO and Member News
·         Thank you for your participation in last month’s Statewide PEO Town Hall. We learned about how NSPE, under the new membership model, will be working with PEO to offer more to you as members. Anticipate more statewide Town Hall webinars in the future.
·         The annual Central Oregon Mathcounts (nationwide middle school math competition) is THIS SATURDAY (February 23, 2019) at Cascades Academy. Volunteers are always welcome! Please contact Tom if you’re interested in knowing more.
·         The Central Oregon PEO Chapter Board asks you to join us! Prior to the April chapter election meeting, we’re seeking individuals who would like to do more than attend meetings and tours. Please contact Tom, Dirk, or Charlie if you’d like to learn more.
·         Central Oregon PEO’s March 2019 meeting is anticipated to be a TOUR of Nosler’s Bend production facility. Space is limited so we may offer two lunch hour tours. Stay tuned and know that an RSVP will be required.
·         Oregon Design Professionals (ODP) Day at the Capitol is scheduled for March 19, 2019. All engineers and design professionals interested in protection of professional licensure are encouraged to attend this event.
·         The Annual PEO High School Career Fair will be in early April 2019. Please let Tom know if you’re interested in participating or sponsoring this event to encourage future engineers.
·         Mark your calendars now: PEO Annual Conference May 16 & 17, 2018, at OSU CH2M Hill Alumni Center in Corvallis.
 
NSPE offers up to 15 FREE on-demand PDHs to members each year. You are encouraged to review the widely-varied offerings to see how they can help achieve your PDH requirements.
