Providence Rescue Plan - Community Input Needed

The City of Providence will be holding Community Conversations on Providence's Rescue Plan in collaboration with local organizations.

The purpose of these Zoom meetings will be to gain input from the community on how the City can best spend the $165.8 million dollars that will be allocated to Providence through the American Rescue Plan. These digital events are free and open to the public so please share widely!

Tuesday night, 8/24 at 5:30 PM there will be a Providence Rescue Plan Community Conversation hosted by the NAACP Providence Branch, which you can register for here.

Thursday night, 8/26 at 5:30 PM there will be a Providence Rescue Plan Community Conversation hosted by the Latino Policy Institute, which you can register for here.

Back-to-School Facebook Town Hall this Wednesday

Governor Dan McKee, Education Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green and Rhode Island Department of Health Director Dr. Nicole Alexander-Scott will be hosting a back-to-school Facebook town hall this Wednesday, August 25 at 5:30pm.

These vaccine events are in addition to the following weekly vaccine sites:

  • Monday 3:30-5:30: William D'Abate School, 60 Kossuth street (Pfizer)
  • Tuesday 3-6pm: 222 Manton Ave (Pfizer and J&J)
  • Thursday 5-7: Scalabrini Dukcevich Center (Pfizer, Moderna, J&J)
 

Please note that all vaccine sites listed also have COVID-19 testing available.
At-Home Vaccines Available

The Central Providence HEZ is working with Lotus Noire Health to provide in-home vaccines. Anyone interested will have the option to choose between their preferred vaccines, and do not need to have health insurance. Many of our Providence neighborhoods are overdose hotspots, places where rates of overdose are higher than average. To change that, we want to empower our partners with lifesaving information and resources.

AT THIS MEETING WE WILL:
  • Present and discuss the latest overdose data available for Providence.
  • Hold space for community partners and participants to share relevant updates.
  • Raffle off ten $25 dollar gift cards for community participants who are not otherwise compensated to attend.
