Worship In Person and Online

We welcome everyone to join in worship online Sunday morning at 11:00 am on
the church's website or on Facebook.

This Sunday, June 14, at 9:00 AM we will worship in person, at the amphitheater in Central Park. We will have an abbreviated worship service. At 10:30 AM the Upper Room Sunday school class will be on Zoom. Simply go to :

Meeting ID: 815 9104 7549 Password: 778963

There will be a sanitation station with masks, gloves and sanitizer should you want them. In the event of rain we will go to the sanctuary, if there are fewer than 70 people. The sanctuary is roped off for safe distancing. Sanitation stations are outside each entrance and just inside the sanctuary. If your immune system is in any way compromised please stay home!
There is no way to safe distance in the nursery, so unfortunately, none will be provided. You may still watch the worship service on facebook or listen on our website later. When we worship in person follow these 10 new commandments of worship.

Ten New Commandments

I. Do not touch anyone.
II. Stay at least six feet from other people.
III. Place offering in plates located near exits.
IV . Wear a mask if you have one.

VI. Pick up your own bulletins.
VII. Do not sing.
VIII. Do not mingle before or after worship.
IX. Sit in every other pew.

Response to the Word:

We thank you, O God, that you break through the boundaries which we set around the generosity of your love; shocking us with the company you keep, turning us around from the sure pathways we tread, and bringing into being things beyond our imagining. We thank you that you wake us from the sleep of many deaths, calling us on into places we have never been. Thanks be to you, O God. Amen.

Sunday Evening, June 21st
Six O'Clock
in the Fellowship Hall and Central Park - weather permitting

Can't join us 'in person?' Zoom with us while we are in the Fellowship Hall.
When indoors we will no longer meet in our traditional circle. Instead, in a semi-circle with each chair placed at the 6-foot distance, followed by another row, 6-feet behind and chairs distanced as the first row. We are working out other service changes due to the virus considerations.
We will also offer the opportunity for folks to Zoom-in or possibly stream-in, while we are in the fellowship hall.
E-Giving
Electronic giving allows us to give regularly and reliably. Our offering plates are now electronic. A US Bank survey shows that 38% of Americans "never" write personal checks. Give through our website at centralumcspartanburg.org; or send in your check to Central UMC, 233 N. Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306. Thank you!

EPWORTH CHILDREN NEED
OUR HELP

As you may know, the Epworth Children's Home recently suffered a fire to the maintenance building which housed its supplies. Epworth is in immediate need of everything from toothbrushes to cleaning supplies. They have provided a wish list of needed items and ask that we donate only the exact items on the wish list.

Here are two quick and easy ways Central folks can help:

1) Order items from Epworth's Amazon Wish List or Walmart Registry. Items will be shipped directly to Epworth.

2) Send a monetary donation to Central UMC, designated to Epworth Children's Home. Deadline June 30.
Thank you for your faithful support of Epworth Children's Home !
