Sad News...CVCOA's
Holiday Meals/Gifts Event Cancelled
It is with a heavy heart that Central Vermont Council on Aging (CVCOA) is cancelling its Holiday Dinner and Gifts event this year. This was not an easy decision for CVCOA. The Holiday Dinner has grown to over 300 older Central Vermonters who received meals last year. It has become challenging to find a suitable venue for preparing and delivering so many fresh hot dinners, gifts, and groceries on Christmas Day. Our staff is managing a high caseload while we are experiencing temporary staff vacancies. More pressing is the growing population of older Vermonters we serve and our commitment to maintaining the highest quality of services.  Read More
Medicare Part D
Enrollment Underway at CVCOA
Every year, starting in October, CVCOA enrolls hundreds of older Vermonters in their Medicare Part D prescription plan. Medicare offers prescription drug coverage to everyone with Medicare. To get Medicare drug coverage, you must join a plan approved by Medicare that offers Medicare drug coverage. Each plan can vary in cost and drugs covered. The enrollment period, which ends in December, is an very busy time for our Information and Assistance team and case managers who may meet with an average of five clients per day. For more information on Med D enrollment, please visit Medicare Drug Coverage. You may call CVCOA at (802)479-0531 for information or an appointment.
