Central Vermont Council on Aging Closing
AmazonSmile Foundation Account
Like many not-for-profit organizations, several years ago Central Vermont Council on Aging joined the AmazonSmile Foundation, the fundraising arm of Amazon.com. After some soul-searching and discussion, CVCOA decided to close our AmazonSmile account in favor of the many local businesses who support and encourage CVCOA. Last year, over 90 Central Vermont businesses supported Central Vermont Council on Aging in our auction and through direct cash donations.

These wonderful businesses have a direct positive impact on aging services in Central Vermont and we cherish their support. Thank you to all of our business supporters out there!

Central Vermont Council on Aging Submits Comments to USDA Objecting to
Changes to Food Stamps (3SquaresVT)

CVCOA has grave concerns that new USDA proposed changes to eligibility requirements will exclude Vermonters, including older Vermonters, who cannot afford nutritious food. " The proposed rule would gut states’ options to eliminate SNAP asset tests and use a higher income test to serve more working households that have significant expenses...." The current policy option is known as “Broad-Based Categorical Eligibility”.
