"Village to Village" Movement
Comes to Central Vermont

by Jeanne Kern, Director of Community and Volunteer Services at CVCOA

Several new “Villages” are in various stages of exploration or development in the CVCOA service area. These Villages are not actual towns or physical spaces. They are an organized network of volunteers and trusted service providers who offer support and services to Village members, so they can remain active, socially connected, safe and comfortable in their homes and communities as they grow older.

Read More about the "Village to Village" movements coming to Cambridge and Jeffersonville, Hyde Park and Morrisville, as well as Montpelier.
Help for Veterans:
Area Agencies on Aging Program for Veterans

The Veterans Directed Care (VDC) program is designed to help keep Veterans in their own homes, helping prevent or postpone any out of home placements. The program’s hallmark is that the Veteran is in control of the services that they use and need in order to remain at home.

The program is a partnership with the Veteran's Administration and the Vermont Association of Area Agencies on Aging (V4A), whose Care Advisors will work to support VDC Veterans to assess what services are needed and wanted. The Veteran’s family or friends may also assist. Call CVCOA's Helpline at 1-800-642-5119.
