Sunday, June 3 at 10:30 am—Children & Youth Sunday
Our first Sunday together in June honors our children and youth in the congregation and we come together for our annual Flower Communion, a visual representation of the beauty we can create when we, diverse as individual flowers, come together to create a lovely bouquet of community.

Sunday, June 3 at 11:45 am—Annual Meeting
The Annual Meeting of First Universalist will take place after church. This is your opportunity to vote on next year’s Board Members, the church’s budget, and to hear about the state of the church. A light lunch and childcare will be provided. 

Sunday, June 10 at 10:30 am—Member Recognition Sunday
On Member Recognition Sunday, we officially welcome our newest members to the congregation and we honor some of our members who have embraced and championed our mission this year.

Sunday, June 10 at 12:30 pm—Rev. Jennifer’s Farewell Party
After church, the Nathanson’s are hosting Rev. Jennifer’s Farewell Party with a potluck/barbeque at their home in Freeport. 

Sunday, June 17 at 11:30 am—Ice Cream Social
A new tradition, the Member Service Committee wants to give you a sweet send-off to summer with the annual Ice Cream Social. 
Your Board and your Interim Search Team are pleased to announce that our search has been successfully completed! We are excited to welcome Rev. Frieda Gillespie as our Interim Minister for the next two years. Rev. Frieda specializes in Interim Ministry and has a lot of experience with congregations in transition. We believe she is a great fit! We're delighted to be working with her, and she is just as excited to be working with us.

Rev. Frieda plans to arrive in Yarmouth on Monday, Aug. 1. Her first service at First Universalist will be on Ingathering Sunday, September 9. More information will be shared soon.

When mud season ends, it’s the right time to get your car’s interior cleaned! For just $40, our senior youth crew will vacuum and clean your car’s interior (professional car detailing services often cost over $100!). Sign up right now to reserve your spot! P.S. Our original car detailing date got rained out, so please, instead, join us on Sunday, May 2th!

Smartphone Photography Class
You already have a great camera in your pocket—learn how to use it! Steve Thomas and members of our senior youth group would love to teach you how some techniques for taking and editing your smartphone photos. Sign up in the Gathering Room today—date TBA soon. $25/person.
First U has been welcoming many talented musical acts into our acoustically superb Sanctuary - stop in on a Thursday or Friday night to experience live Music on Main in Yarmouth!

Dreamcatcher: May 24th at 7 pm
Come hear North Yarmouth's own (some would say First U's own), Eli Gilbert with his Tennessee-based bluegrass band (although, half of this band was born and raised in Maine!). Tickets are $15 at the door, under 10 free. All are welcome. 

A Night of West African Drumming & Dance: June 15th at 7 pm
Join us for a night of West African drumming and dance as we feature four West African master drummers: Theo Marty from Ghana, Abou Sylla from Guinea, Seny Daffe from Guinea, and Namory Keita from Guinea. We're excited to have these artists here in Yarmouth. It's sure to be an upbeat evening that's not to be missed. Tickets are $15, under 10 free. All are welcome. 
Rev. Jennifer’s Farewell Party
Sunday, June 10, 12:30 pm, at the Nathanson’s in Freeport
Meghan and Josh (and Jonah and Adrian) Nathanson have offered to host Rev. Jennifer’s Farewell Party after church on June 10 at their home on Lower Flying Point Road in Freeport. Please save the date for this all-church potluck/barbecue and plan to bring your family to offer your best wishes to Rev. Jennifer as she transitions from the ministry. More details about this event will be coming soon!

Summer Sign-Ups Wanted: Preble Street Soup Kitchen
Tuesdays, July 7, August 4, & September 1
We need YOU to help out with dinner service at Preble Street. You will feel good about yourself if you take a few hours to volunteer. This can also be a great way introduce teenagers, aged 13 and older, to a rewarding service experience. The clients are appreciative and the Preble Street staff is highly organized and helpful at making us feel welcome and useful.  

The job means reporting for duty at 3:30 and staying till 6:30, following instructions from the Preble Street staff. You are encouraged to commit to the entire 3 hours, but there is some flexibility: arrival anytime before 4:15 is acceptable.

FIA Photos Wanted!
You all are invited to submit photos and/or newspaper clippings about any First U social justice project you've been a part of during the past 3 years! These are to be featured in a new Faith in Action bulletin board in the Gathering Room, starting in September 2018.Please contact Mariana before the end of June at or (207) 975-2884 to submit items or ask how to have your project included.

Please note that Friday and Saturdays are typically her days off - Rev. Jennifer does not check email on these days, but will answer any crisis or emergency calls.
