National Volunteer Week is celebrated April 18 – 24, 2021. The dictionary defines a volunteer as:
noun
- a person who freely offers to take part in an enterprise or undertake a task.
verb
- freely offer to do something.
While those are great definitions, we firmly believe they don't express the gratitude from those that are recipients of the individuals who go above and beyond.
We are truly blessed to have had so many wonderful volunteers throughout our existence. In fact, they are the reason we are here today. Back in 1955, 20 individuals had the forethought and community-mindset to create our foundation. That is simply amazing.
Today, we have far fewer volunteers, but are thankful for every second they spend with us.
