Greetings!
Happy New Year! I am beyond hopeful and excited for 2021. I know 2020 was an exhausting and challenging year for most, especially those who are essential workers. Here's how our year ended:
- 13,670 emergency transports
- 6,829 non-emergency transports
- 21,814 paratransit transports
- nearly 900,000 fleet miles driven
- just over 100,000 gallons of fuel used
While we ended 2020 below budget and 2019 figures, we pivoted along the way and are very happy to report that we did not have to furlough any of our employees. Of course that meant sacrificing purchasing some new equipment among other things, but taking care of our associates was crucial so that we could continue to service the region as you have been accustomed to us doing over the last 65 years.
I am excited to share that our associates were fortunate to have received COVID-19 vaccines from both health networks in the early phase. We hope that when your turn comes, you will help to slow the spread by getting vaccinated as well.
On a personal note, I would like to thank our amazing board of trustees for officially appointing me CEO as of January 1. I look forward to being very active in the community and would love to hear your ideas and suggestions on how we can remain your #1 emergency medical service provider.
Stay well,
Robert F. Mateff Sr.
