Cetronia Chronicle
March 2023 | Issue #33
Greetings!

I hope this message finds you well. It is hard to believe that daylight savings time is upon us and spring will be in the air on a more regular basis shortly.

I'm pleased to share that we've been re-approved as an Educational Improvement Organization by the state of Pa. This allows us to receive EITC funding from businesses. Businesses can earn a 75% tax credit for a one-time donation and up to 90% for a two-year commitment. These funds are used to help train the youth in our region with basic lifesaving skills to becoming an Emergency Medical Responder. It also allows us to offer a free summer camp for kids ages 12 - 16 (see more below).

We are excited to be hosting so many great events this year. Want to stay up-to-date on all of them and more? Be sure to follow us on our social media channels including our new TikTok account, @CetroniaAmbulanceCorps.
Stay well,

Robert F. Mateff Sr.
Chief Executive Officer

Purchasing an item off this list will directly be shipped to us and go towards raffle items for our event on April 28th. This is our largest fundraising event of the year and all funds raised will go directly toward purchasing equipment and provide educational opportunities for our associates and the community. Thank you in advance!
EMS for Children Day

On Wednesday, May 24 from 4–7 p.m. we will be having an event for children at our Joint Operating Center located at 4300 Broadway, Allentown. We’ll have tours of our vehicles, Andy the Ambulance, food trucks, activities and games, music, and more. The event is free to attend and will be located outdoors. In the case of inclement weather, we will move indoors. Registration is not required. Stop on out and say hi and grab a bite to eat from the food trucks!
We are saddened to share that on February 11, 2023, Paratransit associate Joshua Lilly passed away after a battle with cancer. Joshua had recently been recognized as our Paratransit Associate of the Year for 2022. Cetronia Ambulance was his reason for getting out of bed no matter how much pain he was in or how sick he felt. He had always said that Cetronia Ambulance gave him purpose. Joshua was always positive and brought light to our associates and to the patients that he assisted daily.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this difficult time. May he rest in peace.
Camp is for ages 12 – 16 years old and is FREE! The South Whitehall Township Emergency Services Camp will offer youth the opportunity to learn about the important role that public safety workers play in the community, as well as provide a basic understanding for pursuing a fulfilling career in emergency services.

On February 21, we went to Neffs UCC Preschool for their annual Teddy Bear Clinic! A Teddy Bear Clinic helps familiarize the children with basic medical first aid and instills other good self-care habits. Thank you for having us!
EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION DAY 2023
We had so much fun stopping at all of our stations (Weisenberg Volunteer Fire Department, New Tripoli Fire Company, Upper Macungie Township Station 56, Whitehall / Coplay Station, CAT Center) to drop off goodies and give thanks to all of our associates who work day and night.
