Cetronia Chronicle
October 2021 | Issue #16
Greetings!

It is refreshing that we are beginning to feel the crisp in the air. Our crews have been taking the brunt of the hot weather with their long, hot uniforms and all the PPE gear they must wear to protect themselves and others. We know they are finally starting to breathe a sigh of relief heading into fall.

Our Cetronia family grew by one! We'd like to congratulate EMT Melanie Heiss on the birth of her baby Abigail Rose, born September 9. We also have a wedding announcement. Supervisor Matt Cornell and Paramedic Nicole Keinert tied the knot on September 4.

Lastly, please keep an eye out for our Annual Appeal mailing if you live in one of the townships that we service for emergency transportation. Your support helps fill an important gap in our funding. Many think that emergency medical services are operated solely through local, state, or even federal dollars. That is certainly not the case. We operate as a 501c3 nonprofit organization that relies on generous donations from dedicated and involved community members. 98.9% of our funding comes from user fees and donations made by businesses and individuals like you. 1.1% of our funding comes from direct municipal contributions. Please help support our mission if you are in a position to do so. You are an important partner in building a safe and secure community. Thank you!

Stay well,

Robert F. Mateff Sr.
Chief Executive Officer

September Stats:
1,529 Emergency Calls
751 Non-emergency Calls
1,192 Paratransit Runs
The Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program awards businesses tax credits of up to 90 percent of their contribution to approved nonprofit organizations.

Cetronia Ambulance Corps is one of those approved Educational Improvement Organizations (EIO), making them eligible to receive such funds. The funds received are used to educate school children about basic first aid and CPR, along with 9-1-1 protocols. The funds also go to train high school students through Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) programs.

By making a tax deductible donation through the EITC program your company is making a great impact in our community by enriching the educational programs of the local school districts.

October is fire prevention month. Cetronia Ambulance Corps is extremely proud to work alongside so many wonderful local fire departments on a regular basis to provide rehab services. Not only do we assist on fire calls when needed, we also provide crews standby services while they are doing their fire training sessions. The community should know that they are in good hands if the need arises, but in order to reduce your risk make sure you have a family plan in the case of an emergency.
