Chag Purim Sameach

The Jewish community celebrates Purim (which means “lots”) on the 14th of Adar (the Hebrew month) every year . This year, the happy occasion began yesterday evening, March 16th and continues through today Thursday, March 17th. The holiday commemorates the Jewish people who were saved from Haman, the Persian Empire. Families and friends come together for Mishloach Manot, a festive gift exchange of food and drinks and the reading of the Megillah (book of Esther) which recounts the story of Purim.

I wish to all in the Jewish community,
my friends, neighbors, and constituents a
Freilichen Purim
