Dear Friends,
Happy Purim! We hope you were able to hear the Megillah, wear fun costumes, and eat some tasty hamantaschen!
We're very proud to be sending 360 college and high school students from our partner organizations to the 2018 AIPAC Policy Conference as Milstein Fellows this weekend. Our partner organizations do a tremendous job finding and cultivating the best and brightest students, who will come back with a renewed energy and focus in their Israel advocacy efforts. Since we began sponsoring students 11 years ago, we have consistently seen students who attend AIPAC’s Policy Conference into bright, young professionals who are committed to a strong U.S.-Israel partnership.
This month we are excited to share with you Adam's newest article in the Jerusalem Post, which discusses why he's optimistic about the Jewish future in the U.S. despite the numerous challenges faced in the American diaspora.
Also, we share the incredible Leadership Project, a new study abroad program from our partner organization, SSI (Students Supporting Israel), and if you missed it last month, be sure to check out
Virtually Israel
, an interactive way to experience Israel from the comfort of your couch.
Finally, we're proud to feature HaLev Israel, an MFF-sponsored organization and partner that helps students and young professionals attend their first AIPAC policy conference, and Adam will speak at its
Welcome Event
on Saturday night
.
We thank you for all that you do to advance our shared mission – and look forward to partnering with you in the months ahead to strengthen the State of Israel and the Jewish people.
With sincere love and admiration for Israel and the Jewish people,
Gila and Adam Milstein

Why I'm Optimistic About the Jewish Future in America
|
|
|
Jewish history teaches us that it takes great leaders to overcome major challenges….
I have great hope and optimism that these high-caliber leaders will emerge. This is because we meet them every day. The next generation of pro-Israel activists – passionate, innovative and incredibly hard-working leaders – are rising to meet the challenges of our time.

The Leadership Project is a distinctive and multifaceted academic program will take place in the summer of 2018 (July 29 – August 18) and is open to college students and graduates from the United States, Europe, and all over the world. The program will be taught in English and will be based at the beautiful campus of Oranim College in the Galilee region of Israel.
The Leadership Project offers students a unique opportunity to earn six units of academic credit while learning about Israel’s history and politics, experiencing the real Israel, and interacting with Israelis from all walks of life. Students will learn how to effectively debunk falsehoods being spread about Jews, Judaism, and Israel. Numerous trips throughout Israel will provide students with a close look at some of the remarkable individuals and endeavors that are the secret of Israel’s creativity, survival, and resistance. At the same time, students will gain leadership skills that will be useful when they return home to their campuses and communities.
A $1,000 scholarship is available for the first 20 candidates who have provided proof of acceptance to the program, generously provided by the Adam and Gila Milstein Family Foundation.

Featured Organization: HaLev Israel
Policy Conference Edition
|
|
In 2013, HaLev was founded with one mission: help young leaders aged 18-35 attend their
first
AIPAC Policy Conference. Since then, and with the generous help of the
Adam and Gila Milstein Foundation
, HaLev has subsidized more than 300 people, typically giving $200-$300 off the $600 registration.
On March 3rd, 2018 HaLev will throw its
5
th
annual
Welcome Event in DC
to kick off the 2018 Conference. T
ickets are $20, and all proceeds subsidize the first timers.
Please join us as Adam Milstein, Sgt. Ben Anthony, Rabbi Shmuley Boteach and others will be addressing the crowd!
The welcome event also brings together the hundreds of AIPAC leaders who are in town for the Conference with roughly 200 young professionals from DC Jewish Community who have
never
been involved in AIPAC, giving them a true feel for the enthusiasm that drives so many to fly across the country to take part in such an important event for the Jewish People.
The Adam and Gila Milstein Family Foundation is proud to sponsor this informative and impactful event.
