A MESSAGE FROM OUR CNT PRESIDENT

Happy New Year!

As we reach the halfway point of our fiscal year (July 1 to June 30), I am pleased to share the success achieved over the last several months as we have actively focused on Community visibility.

  • Our Membership Committee and Board have been actively reaching outward, raising awareness of CNT through Community involvement. Through multiple articles in the Jewish Times and the Marietta Daily Journal, a hands-on Challah making outreach event at YMCA of West Cobb and our presence at the Jewish BBQ Festival, we have without question become more widely visible in Cobb County and throughout the greater Jewish Atlanta Community.
  • Our Communications team has grown, expanding our social media efforts and strengthening our digital presence so that CNT is easier to find, recognize, and engage with.
  • The Religious School continues to thrive with current and expected near future enrollment growth with active plans to grow and expand next year as well. In addition the Youth Group is rekindling with plans for a movie night soon and discussions about 2026 activities.
  • Finally our Ritual committee is experiencing increases in service attendance, enhanced Onegs and, of course, our eagerly anticipated Challah flavor of the Week!

Looking ahead, 2026 will be a milestones year as we celebrate 20 years of CNT and 10 years with our Spiritual leader, Rabbi Prass, being on the pulpit, a true testament to the strength, stability and continuity of our community.

In the next six months we remain deeply committed toward further building of Community partnerships, hosting Community events at CNT, Community outreach and offering plenty of social activities to build and strengthen Community relationships across multiple generations.

Highlights include a PJ Library Event, Torah Study, JIFLA Financial Education event, Scout Shabbat and plans for a guest speaker in partnership with the Breman Museum.

Together, we are actively connecting with our Community and in turn, we will continue to grow and thrive from it.

If I have not given enough of a hint, there is one word that defines our mission and focus. So I conclude with a challenge and reward. The first person that shares with me, during this Friday Night's service, the one word that defines our focus will receive a lovely prize!

(Sorry Board Members and Berenson Family, you are exempt from winning!!)

With a focus on Community,

Matt Berenson

President, Congregation Ner Tamid

Bagel Rescue

Saturday, January 24 at 10:00 am

One of our favorite community service organizations comes to CNT again to provide us with the opportunity to help others! Bagel Rescue collects unsold bagels from bakeries, packages them, and then takes them to communities in need. This is a fun activity that takes place in CNT! Please RSVP to membership@mynertamid.org if you are interested in packing with us.

PJ Library at CNT!

Saturday, January 25 at 10:30 am

Let’s celebrate the birthday of the trees with color, creativity, and a little bit of dirt! Kids are invited to paint their very own flower pots and plant seeds inside to take home and grow. It’s a joyful way to honor Tu B’Shevat while learning about nature, growth, and caring for our planet — one painted pot at a time.

This hands-on event is perfect for young artists. Come ready to get a little messy, make something beautiful, and grow something meaningful! Registration is required, please click here.
