Many years ago I was in a meeting at work and one of the leaders said something that truly resonated:
“The Answer is in the Community. Now it might not be easily visible and you may have to connect with the right person that could be connected to someone else but there is no question….the answer IS in the community.”
I have found this to be true in many different walks in life.
Most recently our synagogue reached out to the community as we were in need of a Hebrew School teacher for our amazing and growing Religious School! We put the word out in several different ways in the Jewish Community and in time the answer replied back.
Another example of this is the Jewish Federation of Great Atlanta and their generous Gather Grant Program.
Ner Tamid is actively pursuing opportunities to expand its programming to our extensive community which reaches out beyond Cobb County to serve the Jewish Families in Paulding, Cherokee, Bartow and Douglas County. We also serve those all over Cobb County who are looking for a more intimate and inviting community including several families who are interfaith. With our location critically nestled between Marietta and Kennesaw, we are arguably the most regional Synagogue in greater Atlanta.
To meet the programming and spread out community needs, the Jewish Federation is providing support via a Gather Grant for the remainder of this calendar year for us to do events and activities both at CNT & out in the greater community.
On August 7, we invite Jewish Families looking to connect with each other to join us for our Shabbat BBQ dinner followed by services led by Rabbi Prass. PLEASE RSVP to membership@mynertamid.org.
We also welcome Jewish families to reach out and learn more about our incredible religious school which will feature a music program and a new cooking series!
Speaking of the cooking series, a huge thank you to the Jewish Federation for an educational grant to support the kickoff of this program.
Looking for a place to help raise your kids Jewish or to socially and spiritually connect with Jewish adults or families?
The answer is in the Community. The answer is OUR Congregation Ner Tamid Community.
With a focus on Community,
Matt Berenson
