A MESSAGE FROM OUR CNT PRESIDENT

Greetings all,

I am pleased and honored to share some shout outs to a few within the community with sincere appreciation for what they do for Congregation Ner Tamid.

My first shout out goes to Rob Goldstein and his daughter Rebecca – Rob is a master challah maker which gives me yet another reason to enjoy our Shabbat Services. This past Friday we had Pumpkin Challah. In the past we have had Peaches and Cream Challah, Sundried Tomato Challah as well as Chocolate Chip Challah. What will we have this week and for the Family Shabbat Dinner next week? Come and find out! Rebecca quietly helps out and supports our Ritual Committee and does a great job of being our welcoming host as we arrive for Shabbat each Friday.

Another shout out goes to the Benmeleh family for opening their home for the 12 who attended the Men’s Group event last Saturday night. The Brazilian cuisine prepared by Yomtov and Kelli as well as the help and hosting by their son Daniel made for a great evening by all.

My next shout out goes to the person who is preparing this edition of Chai Lights. Johanna Kohler in so many ways helps out our Congregation from Communication, to Religious School assistance, to Scarecrow Decorating, to Membership to being a key contributor on our Board. If there is a MVP award I have to nominate Johanna.

Finally, a shout out to the Seitel family who has graciously offered their beautiful house in Blue Ridge, GA for a weekend getaway. We have raffle tickets for sale for only $25 for an amazing weekend. I encourage you to buy a ticket or several if you’d like as the odds of winning are far greater than the lottery! The raffle ticket will be selected during our Menorah Lighting in December.

For a successful synagogue it takes a village. I could give shouts outs to so many more. For today however, I express my appreciation for the villagers noted above. Their support and desire for our success is so much appreciated!

With a focus on Community,

Matt Berenson, President
