Celebrating our Israeli Emissaries

Friday, January 3 at 6:00 pm (service 6:30 pm)
Preneg Dinner RSVP: Click Here to RSVP

Celebrate the first Shabbat of 2020 Israeli style! Come meet our Israeli emissaries, Noya, Hoshen and Ella and learn about their work at TBC and throughout the Fairfield community.

The evening begins with an Israeli dinner at 6:00 pm (felafel, of course!) and then continues with Shabbat services at 6:30 pm followed by a birthday celebration and Oneg Shabbat with a certified nut-free option at the dessert table. The Oneg Shabbat will include informal round table discussions with Noya, Hoshen and Ella so you can get to know them better.

Congregants and friends of all ages will enjoy this special Shabbat!
Thank you to Jane and Moses Alexander for sponsoring the preneg Israeli dinner and the oneg!

TBC Mussar Study Group Begins January 29

On Wednesday, January 29 at 6:15 pm we will have the first of four (1/29, 2/26, 3/25, 5/13) evening discussions open to all congregants working through Alan Morinis' book, Everyday Holiness: The Jewish Spiritual Path of Mussar.

In the course of these 4 discussions, the workshop will study the history of Mussar tradition within Judaism; the Mussar "map" of 18 traits identified within the tradition as being inherent to humankind; and the elements of traditional Mussar practice which aim to bring these traits into balance and make us whole. For more information, contact Ria Miller.

It is traditional to light a memorial candle on the eve of the yahrzeit at home and to recite Kaddish when lighting the yahrzeit candle. It is also a custom to make donations in memory of loved ones around the time.
