Join Us to Celebrate TBC Teachers and Madrichim, This Friday, May 1, at 6:30 PM!

Please join us for a very special Shabbat Family Service via Zoom to celebrate the teachers and madrichim (student aides) of our Religious School. Our teachers are talented, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable educators under normal circumstances, but they have proved their extraordinary dedication to their students, to Jewish education, to our community, and to adaptation during these days that have separated us from one another physically.

As our Religious School year nears its end in just a few weeks, I hope that you will help us to honor our congregation's teachers and madrichim by joining this special Zoom service on Friday, May 1st at 6:30.  Register now for the Family Service!

Teachers: Barbara Massey Bear, Joe Sondheimer, Dana Umerley, Rachel Clott, Rayna Avizov, Diane Brown, Bonnie Heft, Rabbi Rachel Bearman, Student Cantor Suzanne Hamstra

Madrichim: Charlie Bennett, Sarah Bennett, Alex Cohen, Ryan Cohen, Ava Curto, Elijah Busch, Grace Goldberg, Sima Goldberg, Poppy Herve, Ariel Langberg, Nina Saunders

Funds, Food and Volunteers Needed for Dorothy Day House!

From TBC Social Action: Recently the number of people appearing at the door has increased significantly. Given the economic pressures many people are under and resulting food insecurity, it is likely that this number may increase further. This means we will need more donations.
Our need for afternoon volunteers (from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm) is also increasing. We were adequately staffed with two people a day, but now we will require a third person. If you are 60 or under and available, please let me know.  If you have extra commercial masks or can make homemade masks, please bring them down so we can distribute them to the guests. Since we are likely not to need non-perishable food donations (ex soup) for a while, we are directing people to the Daily Bread Food Pantry (25 West St - entrance off Terrace Place).

Donations are accepted on Mondays between 11am and 2pm and Friday between 8:30 am and 11:30 am. I am posting updates on what we need each day on our website at

so please check the website to stay current on our needs. I am also updating the voicemail message on our phone at 203-743-7988.
Yahrzeit Memorial Plaques at TBC

As the secular year begins, we know that many of us are thinking of loved ones who have passed away, and we invite you to use this moment of transition, of remembering and looking forward, to commemorate the lives and blessings of your loved ones with a memorial plaque. Please see this announcement from Rabbi Bearman and President Baulsir for more information .

Additionally, we would like to invite the entire community to a SPECIAL SERVICE OF DEDICATION on MAY 15, 2020. If you have any questions, please call TBC's main office (203-544-8695). We would be happy to help you in any way that we can.
